Born 26th August 1899 at Nottingham and lived at Nottingham. Son of Henry and Mary F. Key (formerly Bakewell), of 11, Thorneywood Lane, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham aged 16 years and 9 months and went to France in 1916. He was killed in action, 2nd June 1916, aged 17, whilst serving in the line near Givenchy, France.

Buried Le Touret Military Cemetery, Richebourg-lAvoue, France. Plot 3, Row G, Grave 6.
