Born and lived at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Nellie Baker, of 11, Canal Street, Ilkeston. Husband of Eva May Baker, of 16 Balk Street, Ilkeston. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 23rd May 1918 at Derby. He went to France on 23rd September 1918 and died of wounds, 8th October 1918, at 141 Field Ambulance.
