Born at Barham, Kent and lived at 17 Durham Road, Sidcup, Kent. Son of Joseph And Emma Baker, of 45, Chart Road, Folkestone, Kent. he was a grocer’s assistant prior to enlisting at Woking, Surrey. He was killed in action, 29th November 1916, aged 28, by German shellfire whilst serving in the line near Martinsart, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
