Born in Nottingham and lived at 109, Gordon Road, Nottingham. Son of John and Clara Bainbridge, of 158, Blue Bell Hill Road, Nottingham. He was a Brushmaker prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 8th October 1916, aged 25, during the German counterattack near Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.
