Husband of Helen Elizabeth Bainbridge, of Chapel Lane, Upper Marehay, Derbyshire. Brother of Mrs R. Lamb, of Chapel Lane, Upper Marehay. He was a Coal Miner prior to enlisting on 30th November 1914 at Derby. He went to France on 28th June 1916 and was appointed Corporal on 24th July 1916. He died of wounds, 28th September 1916, aged 37, at 49 Casualty Clearing Station, Contay France.
