Private Percy John Bailey

Army Number: 103422 (formerly 10955 Bedfordshire Regiment)

Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born 6th July 1899 at Olney, Buckinghamshire. Son of Tom and Clara Bailey, of Oak Villa, Sherrington, Buckinghamshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting, 26th September 1915 aged 16, at Bedford. He went to France on 6th April 1918 was transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 7th April 1918. He was wounded in a gas attack, 16th August 1918 and was treated in hospital at Le Treport, France, before rejoining his battalion, 6th December 1918. He died of wounds on 15th October 1918 at No. 18 Casualty Clearing Station at Malassises, France.
