Born at Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire and lived at Woodville, Derbyshire. Husband of Lily Bailey. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, 15th February 1918, whilst in the line at “California Camp’ near Wieltje, Belgium.
