Born and lived at Cannock, Staffordshire. Husband of Edith Annie Bailey, of 241, Cannock Road, Chadsmoor, Cannock. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 13th May 1918 at Walsall. He went to France on 26th September 1918 and was killed in action, 17th October 1918, aged 31, in the attack at Regnicourt, France.
