Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Henry and Clara Bailey, of 155, Gladstone Street, Nottingham. Husband of Florence Elizabeth Bailey, of 17, Chatsworth Avenue, Carlton, Nottingham. He was an upholsterer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 27th May 1918, whilst the battalion was in a retiring fight towards Montagne de Guyancourt, France.
