Lance Corporal George Bailey

Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Cromford, Derbyshire and lived at Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Son of Albert and Charlotte Bailey, of John Street, Ashbourne. He enlisted at Ashbourne. Went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action on 30th September 1915, when the Germans exploded a mine under the British trenches near Spoilbank, Belgium.
