Born at Burslem, Staffordshire and lived at 183, Babington Road, Aston, Birmingham. Husband of Maud Bailey, of 155, Newcastle Street, Burslem, Staffordshire. He was a Case Maker prior to enlisting at Aston, 10th December 1915. He went to France on 8th June 1917 and was transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He died at 24 Field Ambulance, 6th July 1917, from shrapnel wounds to his legs.
