He was born in Nottingham and lived at Beeston., Nottingham. Son of Samuel and Elizabeth Bagshaw, of Nottingham; husband of Mary Ann Bagshaw, of 44, Oxford Terrace, Windsor Street, Beeston, Nottingham. He was a window cleaner prior to enlisting at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He died of wounds on 26th August 1917, aged 32.
