Sergeant Ralph Bagshaw

Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Fernilee, Derbyshire and lived at Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Ann Bagshaw, of Whaley Bridge; Husband of Florence Bagshaw, of “Rosy Bank,” Buxton Road, Whaley Bridge. He enlisted on 15th September 1914 at Derby and went to France on 27th August 1915. He was promoted Corporal 1st March 1917, appointed Lance Sergeant, 21st July 1917, and promoted Sergeant, 3rd October 1917. He was killed in action, 24th October 1918, aged 34, during the attack on the German lines at Fontaine Au Bois, France.
