Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Taxal, Cheshire and lived at Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire. Son of Charles and Phoebe Bagshaw, of 74, Macclesfield Road, Whaley Bridge. He was a coal miner at Shallcross Colliery, Derbyshire, prior to enlisting on 6th February 1912 at Whaley Bridge. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was admitted to Hospital at Wimereux on 23rd May 1915 suffering from epilepsy and fits. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Brighton, 30th May 1915. He died, 29th September 1915, aged 24, of a cerebral tumour at No. 3 Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, Yorkshire.
