Born and lived at Staveley, Derbyshire. Son of Dr Benjamin and Bertha Badcock, of High Street, Staveley, Derbyshire. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 31st October 1917. He went to France on 27th June 1918 and joined the 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment at Vaudricourt, France. He was killed in action, on 9th July 1918, aged 20, whilst serving near Essars, France.
