Born at Horsley Woodhouse, Derbyshire and lived at Heanor, Derbyshire. Son of Albert and Elizabeth Bacon, of Sunnyside, Horsley Woodhouse. Husband of Jane Bacon. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 4th November 1918, during the attack on the German positions near Poix Du Nord, France.
