Born and lived at Alfreton, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Rebecca Bacon, of The “Delves,” Swanwick, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 1st March 1915 and died of wounds on 26th March 1917, aged 24.
