Born at Danesmoor, Derbyshire. Son of John Bacon, of 1, Vallance Street, Mansfield-Woodhouse Nottinghamshire; Husband of Sarah Ann Mitchell (formerly Bacon), of 43, Common Lane, Mansfield-Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner. Enlisted at Mansfield and went to Gallipoli 28th August 1915 and died at sea 5th December 1915, aged 38.
