Born at Dunham-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire and lived at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Son of John and Elizabeth Bacon of Dunham-on-Trent. Husband of Lillian Bacon, of 13 Penny’s Lane, Gainsborough. He was a boiler shop labourer prior to enlisting at Gainsborough. He was Killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Morchies, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
