Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

He was born at Danesmoor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of Edward and Elizabeth Bacon. He was a coal miner prior to enlistment on 16th August 1910. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and died a prisoner of war on 11th November 1917.
