Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire. Son of Jonathan and Naomi Bacon, of 9, Station Road. Halfway, Sheffield. Enlisted at Sheffield and went to France on 27th August 1915. He was killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 20, in the attack on the German positions at Ovillers, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
