Born at Nottingham. Son of James and Elizabeth Atkin, of 2 Warren Court, Old Street, St. Anne’s Nottingham. He was a lace factory hand prior to enlisting at Nottingham on 6th January 1914. He went to France on11th December 1914 and was killed in action, on 11th March 1915 during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, France.
