Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Attercliffe, Sheffield, Yorkshire. Son of William and Alice Aspley. He enlisted at Chesterfield, went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, 9th May 1915, during the attack on the German positions at Rouge Bancs, France.
