Private Ernest Frederick Aspinall

Army Number: 102381 (formerly 6296 Lancashire Fusiliers and 380560 King’s Liverpool Regiment)

Battalion: 7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Ramsbottom, Lancashire. Son of Frederic Kenyon Aspinall and Elizabeth Aspinall, of 25, Stanley Street, Ramsbottom, Manchester. He was a reeler prior to enlisting at Bury on 27th April 1916 with the 5th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. He was transferred to the 25th Battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment on 1st January 1917. He was posted to the 7th Battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment on 4th February 1918, posted to the 8th Battalion King’s Liverpool Regiment and went to France on 27th March 1918. He was transferred to the 7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment on 29th March 1918 and was killed in action on 4th September 1918, aged 22.
