Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Nottingham. Son of Dennis and Elizabeth Ashmore, of 12, Montague Street, Bulwell, Nottingham. He lived at Bulwell. He enlisted at Nottingham, went to France 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 31, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
