Lance Corporal Ellis Ashmore

Born at Duffield, Derbyshire. Husband of Mabel Ashmore, of Tamworth Street, Duffield, Derbyshire. He was a dyers labourer at a cotton mill prior to enlisting at Derby on 3rd December 1915. He went to France on 3rd February 1917 and was appointed Lance Corporal on 16th April 1917. He was killed in action, 4th May 1917, during the attack on German positions at Malkoff and Cologne Farms, France.
