Private Frank Arthur Ash

Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Giltbrook, Nottingham. Son of Alfred and Minnie Ash, of 20 Railway Cottages, Staveley, Derbyshire. He lived at 153, Speedwell Terrace, Staveley and was a pointsman with the Great Central Railway prior to enlisting at Chesterfield on 20th November 1915. He went to France on 9th August 1917 and was killed in action, 4th October 1917, during the attack near Poelcappelle, Belgium.
