Native of Tibshelf, Derbyshire. Son of Albert and Emma Armstrong, of 113, McKinley Cottages, Blackwell Road, Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. Enlisted at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, 11th November 1914, and also served in the Balkans during 1915. Died of wounds, 28th September 1916, aged 23, at No. 44 Casualty Clearing Station, Puchevillers, France.
