Born at Wentworth, Yorkshire. Son of John Frederick and Isabella Armstrong, of 54, Vicarage Street, Nottingham. He enlisted at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and was killed in action, 19th May 1918, age 30, whilst serving in the trenches in the Gorre/Essarts, France, sectors.
