Born and lived at Findern, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Mary Jane Archer. of 10, Wallfield Cottages Findern. He was a farmworker prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 21, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
