Born and lived at Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Son of Edward Archer, of 15, Crawshay Street, Gateshead. He enlisted at Newcastle upon Tyne and was killed in action, 25th September 1918, aged 21, by German trench mortar fire near Oppy, France.
