Battalion: 10th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Son of Arthur and Mary Ann Anthoney of 161, Blake Street, Mansfield Woodhouse. Husband of Nora Anthoney. He enlisted at Mansfield, went to France on 29th April 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
