Battalion: 2nd Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Son of Colonel George Hamilton and Edith Ann Anson. Joined the 4th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment on 13th December 1902 and was promoted Lieutenant on 29th August 1903 and Captain on 21st June 1907. He joined the 2nd Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment on 9th October 1914 southwest of Soissons, France and was killed in action on 20th October 1914, when the battalion held position south-east of Bois Grenier, Ennetieres/Escobecques, France against a German attack.
