Born at Colston Bassett, Nottinghamshire. Son of Charles and Margaret Anderson, of 12, Wycliffe Grove, Mapperley, Nottingham. He enlisted in August 1914, went to France on 28th November 1914 and died of wounds, 13th March 1915, received during the battle of Neuve Chapelle, France.

Buried Le Touquet-Paris Plage Communal Cemetery, France. Plot 1, Row B, Grave 6.
