Born at Beeston, Nottingham. Son of Sam and Elizabeth Alvey, of Nottingham; husband of Elsie B. Alvey, of 55, Sherwin Street, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 22nd April 1918 during the attack on Aveluy Wood, France.

Buried Martinsart British Cemetery, France. Plot I, Row C, Grave 46.
