Born at Beeston, Nottingham. Son of Sam and Elizabeth Alvey, of Nottingham; husband of Elsie B. Alvey, of 55, Sherwin Street, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 22nd April 1918 during the attack on Aveluy Wood, France.
