Born at Middlesbrough. Son of Alice Allwood, of 25, St. John’s Road, Belper, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Belper 16th October 1914. He went to France 1st March 1915 and was killed in action, 19th November 1915, whilst serving in the trenches near Vielle Chapelle, France.
