Son of Mary Ann Allwood, of 15, Orchard Street, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Gertrude Allwood, of 8, Scotholme Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Hucknall on 16th September 1916. He went to France on 7th August 1918 and died of wounds, 17th October 1918, at No. 18 Casualty Clearing Station, Ytres, France.
