Born at Calverton, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Margaret Allwood. Lived at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and enlisted at Nottingham. He served in Gallipoli during 1915 and was killed in action, 4th October 1917, during the attack at Poelcappelle, Belgium.
