Born at Nottingham. Son of Harry and Kate Allsopp, of 73, Henry Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. He lived at 7 Eyre Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. He was a cardboard box maker prior to enlisting at Nottingham on 16th January 1912. He went to France on 11th November 1914 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, during the attack near Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
