Battalion: 1st Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Derbyshire. Son of John and Mary Elizabeth Allsopp, of 48, Belper Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting Derby on 4th June 1908. He served in India from 5th January 1909 to the 2nd September 1914. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, on 11th March 1915 during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, France.
