Battalion: 9th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Tamworth, Staffordshire. Son of John and Violetta Allsop, of 16, Harcourt Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield and served at Gallipoli during 1915. He went to France in July 1916 and was killed in action, 26th September 1916, in the attack near Thiepval, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
