Born at Belper, Derbyshire. Son of Albert Edward Allsop, of 39, Kirkby Road., Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Lived at Church View, Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield. He was a hosiery frame worker prior to enlistment at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire on 25th June 1917. He went to France on 1st April 1918 and was killed in action, on 15th April 1918, during the German attack near Kemmel, Belgium
