Born 4th November 1888 at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Sarah Allsop, of John Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield and was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
