Born at Hucknall, Nottinghamshire and lived at 11, Allen Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Sarah Allsop of The Willows, Newcastle Avenue, Worksop. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Worksop. Was killed in action, 7th July 1916, whilst serving in the trenches at Givenchy, France.
