Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of John and Lillian Mary Allen, of 10 Riddings Terrace, Wellington Street, Nottingham. Husband of Violet Allen. He was a warehouseman prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 18th August 1915 and was killed in action on 1st July 1917 during the attack at Cite St. Theodore, France.
