Born at Normanton, Derbyshire. Son of Frederick and Ellen Constance Julia Alldred, of 49, Grove Street, Derby. He was a labourer in the chief mechanical engineering department of the Midland Railway, Derby prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
