Born at Danesmoor, Derbyshire. and lived at 6 New Yard Pleasley Hill Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Son of William and Mary Allcock, of Pleasley Hill, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire; husband of Mary Elliott (formerly Allcock), of 57, Thomson Avenue, New Edlington, Doncaster. He was a carpenter prior to enlisting at Mansfield on 9th December 1915. He went to France on 30th July 1917 and died, 18th December 1917, of acute nephritis (kidney failure) at 11th Stationary Hospital, Rouen, France.
