Born at lived at Stafford, Staffordshire. Grandson of Thomas and Sarah Allard, of 11 Queen Street, Stafford. He was a house painter prior to enlisting at Leek, Staffordshire, and went to France on 27th August 1915. He was killed in action, 1st July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Ovillers, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
