Son of Aaron and Rosetta Aldred, of Lawn House, Gregory Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He was a clerk prior to enlisting at Nottingham on 20th November 1915. He was admitted to the 1st Eastern General Hospital, Cambridge, on 18th March 1916 and died of cerebrospinal meningitis on 29th March 1916, aged 21,
