Born at Strathmartine, Dundee. Son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Alcock, of Baldovan Gardens, Dundee. He enlisted at Dundee and went to France on 2nd May 1915. He was killed in action, 21st September 1918, whilst with the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment at Pontruet, France.
